The END GBV in VET project aims to prototype a full-service operation office for students, trainers, school administrators, and parents in order to build capacity and awareness for disrupting gender-based violence in the VET sector. This is accomplished by improving the development of VET school students, teachers/staff, and interested parents in addressing issues related to GBV, as well as strengthening the institutions' existing structures by providing an integrated approach through the operation of a full service on campus that will provide information, training, support, and consultation.
Join us in creating a safe and inclusive vocational education and training environment free of gender-based violence. Together, we can make a difference!

FAQ

Answer: Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is any form of violence directed at an individual based on their gender or that disproportionately affects individuals of a particular gender. It encompasses a wide range of physical, sexual, psychological, or economic acts of violence that occur in public or private life. GBV is rooted in gender inequality, power imbalances, and societal norms that perpetuate discrimination against certain genders.

Answer: GBV is a significant concern in VET settings because it undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of students and educators, impacting the learning environment and educational outcomes. GBV in VET can lead to decreased participation, lower academic performance, and even dropout, affecting the victims’ future opportunities and perpetuating cycles of violence and inequality.

END GBV in VET Student Ambassadors Initiative aims to establish an alliance of trained individuals who will work together to combat GBV in VET, create awareness about the issue, and promote active responses to it. They report the GBV incident to the relevant authorities within the institution, following established protocols and procedures for documentation and response.Student ambassadors offer immediate support to victims, including guidance to available resources and emotional assistance.
