Within the END GBV in VET project, this Platform is developed to provide informative content on GBV, increase awareness through educational modules, and enable reporting incidents anonymously. However, Ambassadors Are Not Professionals! provides counseling. Ambassadors are trained to identify GBV and offer support, but not to provide professional advice or intervention. Misunderstanding their role can worsen the situation.

Please note that providing your email address is mandatory for receiving a response regarding your incident. This address will not be shared with any third parties and will remain confidential. However, if you prefer not to provide your personal email address, you can create a different email address and subsequently report incidents. Thank you for your understanding.

Answer: Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is any form of violence directed at an individual based on their gender or that disproportionately affects individuals of a particular gender. It encompasses a wide range of physical, sexual, psychological, or economic acts of violence that occur in public or private life. GBV is rooted in gender inequality, power imbalances, and societal norms that perpetuate discrimination against certain genders.

Answer: GBV is a significant concern in VET settings because it undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of students and educators, impacting the learning environment and educational outcomes. GBV in VET can lead to decreased participation, lower academic performance, and even dropout, affecting the victims’ future opportunities and perpetuating cycles of violence and inequality.

END GBV in VET Student Ambassadors Initiative aims to establish an alliance of trained individuals who will work together to combat GBV in VET, create awareness about the issue, and promote active responses to it. They report the GBV incident to the relevant authorities within the institution, following established protocols and procedures for documentation and response.Student ambassadors offer immediate support to victims, including guidance to available resources and emotional assistance.

To report an incident, first click on the “Report Incident” section on the platform. In this form, provide the necessary information and details regarding the incident. Remember that incidents can be reported by a student, ambassador, teacher, or family member. Even though you may not include your full name, it is essential to provide your email address to receive a response regarding the matter.

If you wish to receive a response regarding incidents, we need to have a means of contacting you. Therefore, your email address is only collected for the purpose of reaching out to you. Apart from this, you can also reach us later through an email address that you will create.
